Fitzgerald Contractors doubles in size since MBO
The growth has allowed the Birmingham firm to spread its field of operation and up its maximum contract size to £8m.
The management team led by managing director Nick Coley bought Fitzgerald from parent company Bouygues.

In the last year turnover rose a quarter delivering an expected profit uplift from £775,000 to £1.5m.
Nick Coley, managing director and principle shareholder, said: “By operating across multiple sectors, including retail, housing, highways including working as a subcontractor for large main contractors, we have developed a balanced business model that has enabled us to maximise opportunities to increase turnover and grow the business.”
He added: “As a regional contractor who self-delivers projects, through a directly employed labour force, we believe we have a unique offering that is valued by our clients.”
Over the last two months, Fitzgerald has secured significant awards from Lendlease, Telford and Wrekin Council, Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, MIRA, McLaren Construction, ISG Construction, Taylor Wimpey and CALA Homes.
This has taken its secured forward order book to a record level of over £18m.
Looking forward Coley said the firm was now well placed to chase civil engineering works packages from the upcoming HS2 project.
